Our club offers classes for ages 6 through adult in Foil and Epee for beginners through advanced level fencers. Our goal is to meet the needs of our community whether that be as a recreational fencer or someone who wants to compete at the highest levels. Most importantly it is about learning the sport of fencing and having fun.

Introductory Class:

We offer introductory one day classes that will introduce you to the sport of fencing and teach you basics. All new students are required to attend this class prior to attending any other classes. This class is held on Saturdays and prior registration is required.

Mini-Musketeers:

For our youngest fencers we offer the Mini-Musketeers class. The ages for this class are 6 through 8 years old. While we work with the kids to develop their skills in fencing the main goal is developing the kid’s motor skills and having fun.

Recreational:

As a new fencer, you will learn all the fundamentals of fencing throughout the class. You can expect to learn: footwork, blade work, tactics, conditioning and mental skills. We offer 2 class times per week for foil and 2 for epee. The athlete can attend any or all classes that are best suited to their schedule. Lessons are not required, but encouraged if the athlete is interested in moving to the Pre-Competitive or Competitive level.

Pre-competitive:

The main difference between recreational and the pre- competitive group is the addition of lessons and required tournaments.

Competitive:

The Competitive level is our most comprehensive program and is designed for those athletes who want to compete on a regular basis and have goals to compete and achieve points on the national level and/or to fence for a college team. This program will require athletes to commit to a dedicated training, lesson and competition schedule.

Adult:

The class includes a warm up, footwork, and bouting. The group fencing classes are focused around learning fencing techniques and understanding of the sport. There are opportunities for adults to compete if they are interested.
